The Surface
This course is about exploring the beauty of surface by building texture and layers through the repetition on of pared down marks, gestures and techniques using mono–printing and mixed media painting and drawing.
Students will also be looking at the more decorative side of surfaces using a combination of collage and paint. Exploring different processes such as painting with clay, plaster, printing, stenciling and other possibilities in conjunction with collage, students will use layers of textures to build up their own multi-layered work.
The paintings created will be experimentally layered over the 2 days to create finished works that in turn will inspire further experimentation.
